Teaching Old Dogs New Tricks...Tips from the Cub Guru - Part 2

In our last lesson, we discussed the steps to take in order to wrap mom around your paw.  More specifically, we discussed how to get pools in our rooms!  My tips proved successful for my friends Poncho and Webber, who have been enjoying their pools since our lesson!  I never doubted my powers of persuasion.

Life has been wonderful, splashing around and enjoying the Florida sun!  But I have to admit, I have been a little jealous of my friends - their pools are much bigger than mine!

In an effort to even the odds, I had to up my game a bit and pull out all the stops. Mom is such a sucker for a cool, handsome cub!  The key to success is to prey on her motherly instinct - they think everything we do is adorable!  Begin by chuffing as much as a cub can chuff, calling "maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" any time she's within earshot, and giving her the best "he's the sweetest boy ever" look by rolling over and sheepishly putting your paws in my mouth.  Before you know it, you too will be living and playing in the lap of luxury...or at least practicing your ninja moves in the big human pool!

And for all of the wet rags out there who said it couldn't be done.....well,

Have you hugged your person today?

I just had to share my favorite photo with the best mommy ever!

If you haven't hugged your person today, do so immediately!  It's good for the soul...and everyone smiles!

The Importance of Oral Hygiene

Today, my good friend, Poncho, who used my techniques to get a pool of his own - see "Tips from the Cub Guru," is demonstrating the importance of oral hygiene!
Brushing your teeth daily will help prevent dental problems.  But what do you do to keep your teeth shiny, white, and healthy if you're a tiger????  Even a cute, sweet, and have I mentioned handsome tiger cub, such as myself, isn't a great candidate for brushing.  Our diet of ribs and chicken quarters help keep our teeth clean and free of plaque.  But what can we do for the bacteria that causes bad breath???  We want kisses too!
Poncho, the brainiac that he is, has come up with the perfect solution.  Using an oral rinse twice daily - we prefer the sparkling water from the hose - gives us fresh, clean breath, and makes us oh so kissable!
Pucker up, Ladies!  Rawrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Is Florida really the sunshine state?

Another lovely rainy day here in the Sunshine State (at least that's the nickname "mom" told me).  I honestly don't mind the rain...water is fun to play in...and the rain makes my pool more of a warm bathtub!
There's only so much time I can play in the water....so mom came down to my room and we started going over some more choices for photos, notecards, and embroidery.  Since my early babysitters were dachshunds, mom and I started picking out some nice pictures to use and are brainstorming quotes to match the photos.  I may only be 5 months old, but I' a genius when it comes to brainstorming ideas!!!  Keep checking out Etsy Store - http://www.featuringanimals.etsy.com/ - to see what I come up with next!

Nice People - Great Products

Hi Everyone - for those crafters who like to design notecards like I do and want a professional look when shipping to customers, I did all the hard work (surfing the web with paws can be tough....but I have to work hard to make a great shop for everyone!!!) and found a great place for clear sleeves.  Amber Shaw has a cute site with a great product (and shipping) and an even better mission - all of her proceeds go towards purchasing cardstock, envelopes, and postage so that our troops can write home to their loved ones.  Check out her site - I give her 5 Chuffs (even better than 5 stars for tigers)!!!!

Hmmmm...I bet mom would love this!!!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/41786368/pleated-curved-wristlet-purse-bag - from UWIB (Unique Women in Business) Member - LMCreations

I don't know much about fashion (although I think I've got the nicest stripes in town...) - but I think mom might like, no love this....gotta get dad's opinion!

So I'm looking through etsy, and....

I come across this show-off....Really?  Three tennis balls?  I was playing with tennis balls when I was 6 weeks old...I'd like to see him do that with bowling balls!!!!!  (But for a dog, it's a pretty cool trick!)

This item is from an EFA (Etsy for Animals) member...as a member myself (or rather, one of my humans is a member on my behalf), I recommend checking out their items as well as their causes....helping animals throughout the world!

This is my buddy, Webber.  He and I sat down for a chat (yes, we had to yell a few times since our rooms are a few doors down from each other, but we did it covertly under the cover of night so the humans wouldn't hear my genius plan)....I gave Webber explicit instructions on how to properly beg mom for a pool - you start with chuffing, then beg for ear scratches, then lay down and stretch and do your best to say "maaaaaaaaaa" (my personal soundtrack for training tigers on how to do this will be posted here soon)....last, bat those big green eyes at her and you can have anything you want!  Webber is now lazily lounging in his pool....mission accomplished!

Now that I've put in a full day of tutorials, it's time for a good dinner and some shopping....off to etsy!

Crazy for Collars

Every Star needs to make a fashion statement.....

What do you do when it's raining in Florida?

Go swimming....of course!  I requested an indoor pool...I find that I am at my creative best when relaxing in my room - complete with pool, toys, and an endless supply of hand prepared meals (thanks "mom"!).

"Mommy" Renee and "Grandma" Danielle have been busy working on fun and fashionable shirts - featuring animals!  Their first creation will feature an embroidered white tiger...I may let them embroider my friend, Tabitha, as well - she's a lioness.  I have so many wonderful animals to choose from - I may need help deciding what they should embroider next!

Home At Last....

I am happy to report that I am back home in Florida. "Circus Camp" was fun - I got to travel to a few different states and do some advertising for the circus. I was on tv (morning news) and the radio multiple times. Give me a microphone and I am happy to chat the morning away!  I even started learning illusion!

I am happy to be home - I have a big enclosure with lots of room to run and play - tons of grass (perfect for a young lad such as myself to learn the fine art of stalking - so what if I'm stalking bowling balls!)...I even have my own personal swimming pool.

Since coming home, I have been working hard with my "mommy" to get our website and store up and running.  We are adding new items all the time...many, of course, will feature me!  When a star is born, he must shine brightly in all facets of life!

Keep checking back to keep up on my adventures!
